Stress and Romance - Her View

Ann got it.  Lee hated his job and he was stressed about finances.  The problem was that he treated her like she was the object of his frustrations.  The kids felt the tension but Ann tried to smile and be upbeat for them, unfortunately her smile rarely was reflected in her eyes when he was home.  When she was younger, Ann dreamed about the man who would love her until death do they part.  He would be her knight in shining armor and take care of her.  Why did anyone let young girls read those…See More

The First Audition

The subway rattled it's way to the 50th Street station.  Marguarite nervously shifted her dance bag as she got off the train.  The sea of humanity pushed her up the stairs and out onto the street.  A shudder ran through her body as she looked at the building across the street.  This was it, the moment she had been preparing for since she was a little girl.  Squaring her shoulders she ran before the light and her mind changed.  The lobby was packed with performers of all shapes, and sizes and…See More

The Street

The street where I lived was not a quiet street.  It was alive with noise, movement, and life.  There were always some kids playing handball against the apartment building wall.  The womp of the ball and their calls of "I got it," creating a rhythm.  More often than not, elderly Mrs. Gorman was yelling at them to behave from the folding chair on her front stoop.  She was habitually on the lookout for their parents so she could report any perceived misbehavior. Moms pushing baby carriages or…

"So, did you hear what the silly woman did now?"

"I heard she quit her job to write.  Is that even a job?"
